The scholarship application has two parts and both must be submitted to be considered for an award. All applicants must complete Part 1 - Applicant Information using this form. Part 2 - Demonstration and Verification may be completed using this form or by submitting an essay.
If you chose to write an essay, you must answer the same questions in Part 2 of this application form. Be sure to include reference information at the end of your essay as described in Part 2 of the application. You can provide as much additional information as you feel is important for the Board of Directors to know about you. All essays must be type-written, double-spaced, using a 12-pitch font, with 1 inch margins all around the paper. Essays must be emailed in either MS Word 2003 or PDF format. No other formats will be accepted.
Scholarship Requirements:
Identify as gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgender, or straight ally and be "out" to your family, friends, and peers at the academy or law enforcement agency.
Be a recognized role model by your peers and supervisors.
Demonstrate use of the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics as a guide for decision making.
Demonstrate being able to graduate from your law enforcement training program.
